Description
Pauline and Jo have collected some of their short stories together. All are mysteries or mysterious. Unexpected things happen. Gardeners disappear, ants invade houses and Morris dancing hides a murder. Apparently normal events slide into the supernatural.
PJ Quinn is the pen name of mother and daughter crime writing duo Pauline Kirk and Jo Summers. Jo challenged her mother to write a detective novel and somehow ended up writing it with her. The result is a series of five DI Ambrose Mysteries, set in the late 1950’s & early 1960’s, a period that now seems like an era ago.
Both were already established writers. Pauline had three novels published under her own name and Jo wrote for the legal press. Their five DI Ambrose Mysteries have given them a new identity: PJ Quinn, and a lot of fun.
The DI Ambrose novels have all been well received. The Yorkshire Evening Post described PJ Quinn as ‘One of Yorkshire’s most hotly-tipped crime writing names’ and The Law Society Gazette said ‘Crime has a new hero on the block’.
Dip into their short stories. It’s like opening a box of chocolates. If one isn’t to your taste, just try the next one.
